The Chinese U17 national football team convened in Shanghai on November 2nd, marking the beginning of their pre-tournament preparation. Post their Shanghai-based training camp, the squad will embark on their journey to Qatar, where they will compete in the U17 World Cup for the first time in 21 years. The team has assembled a total of 25 players, with 17 of them having previously participated in the U17 Asian Cup. This group includes goalkeepers Qin Ziniu and Jiang Chengen; defenders Zhang Xuyao, Nan Zixun, Li Junpeng, Liu Zhicheng, and Jin Yucheng; midfielders Zhou Yunuo, Pan Zhaowei, Xu Zhengpeng, Kong Xino, Wan Xiang, Kuang Zhaolei, He Siwan, and Wang Heyi; and forwards Zhao Songyuan and Shuai Weihao. The remaining eight players are Jiang Yuhuan, Gu Boyu, Yu Jianaan, Zhang Junhao, Jin Guancheng, Jin Junhu, Li Jiarun, and Liang Shiyu.

In the past two years, the U17 Chinese National Team has engaged in intense competition against top-tier Asian and international opponents. In 2025, the team embarked on the Dream in the Bundesliga project, embarking on a trip to Germany. They then participated in the Montaigu Cup, where they notched a historic achievement by forcing a draw against France, overcoming Cameroon, and advancing to the semi-finals. During the July 2006 Yinchuan International Youth Football Tournament, the U17s faced Australia, as well as Tanzania and Nigeria. In October, the team participated in the London Vertex Cup, a four-nation tournament, where they encountered Tanzania, Mexico, and Argentina. Over the past two years, the Chinese U17s have squared off against elite youth teams from Europe, Africa, South America, and North America, which has provided invaluable training opportunities.
