The FIFPRO Team of the Year honors, bestowed by the International Federation of Professional Footballers, recognizes the finest male and female footballers of the year. Initially known as the FIFPRO World 11, this accolade was launched in 2005 with the objective of celebrating the most outstanding footballers as chosen by their peers. In 2009, a collaboration with FIFA led to the rebranding of the award to "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," or the FIFA Team of the Year, while maintaining its original format. Starting in 2024, FIFPRO will manage the award autonomously, reverting to its original title: FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year is an exclusively player-voted global honor in football, unmatched in its exclusivity. The selection process takes into account the performances of the nominees from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026, with the criterion set at a minimum of 30 official matches played during this period.
The final lineup of 11 players will include 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 forwards, with the remaining position filled by the non-goalkeeper player who receives the most votes.
